Cori Clingman Guilty Plea Crash Khyree Jackson

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. — Cori Clingman, 25, pleaded guilty Friday to three counts of negligent homicide under the influence of alcohol in connection with a tragic crash that killed NFL rookie Khyree Jackson and two of his high school teammates. The incident occurred on July 6, 2024.

As part of a plea agreement, Clingman is expected to serve three years in prison, with prosecutors recommending a five-year sentence for each count, suspending all but one year to be served consecutively. A formal sentencing is scheduled for February 4, 2026.

On the day of the crash, Clingman was reportedly driving at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour and had a blood alcohol concentration more than one-and-a-half times the legal limit. Her Infiniti Q50 collided with Isaiah Hazel‘s Dodge Charger, resulting in a devastating crash that also involved Anthony Lytton Jr.

Jackson, Hazel, and Lytton, all prominent athletes from Dr. Henry Wise High School, were pronounced dead at the scene. Prosecutors noted that Hazel was driving his car at approximately 130 mph at the time of the collision.

“Incidents like these are not just accidents,” said Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Tara Jackson. “They are preventable tragedies that occur from conscious choices.” The crash has garnered widespread attention and tributes from the community.

Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell expressed his condolences during Jackson’s funeral, stating, “We will make sure you are with us every step of the way.” Clingman, who was unhurt in the incident, will remain under home detention until her sentencing.

This case has raised significant awareness regarding the dangers of reckless and impaired driving, as stated by State’s Attorney Tara Jackson. She emphasized the importance of community awareness to prevent such tragedies in the future.
