ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The Michigan Wolverines football team is sharpening its skills and getting back to basics as they prepare for the final three games of the season. Coach Jim Harbaugh emphasized the importance of fundamentals like blocking, tackling, catching, and running during a recent press conference.

“We want to be the best team in the country in these next three games,” Harbaugh said. “Our focus is on the present moment and making the most of it.”

Harbaugh stressed the significance of ball security, needing to provide the offense with the best possible field position. “It’s about knowing who is most comfortable to handle the ball. We want to get it back to our offense effectively,” he added.

In practice, players engage in various drills involving bad ball circuits to enhance their catching skills under different conditions. “We practice with jugs machines at various angles on the field to build comfort in uncomfortable scenarios,” Harbaugh said.

He highlighted the importance of preparing for all weather conditions and on different surfaces. “We check the weather constantly and aim to simulate conditions for our players before games,” he noted.

Freshman Elijah Dotson has emerged as a significant player, contributing to both special teams and defense. “He has started in every game for the past several weeks and continues to grow,” said Harbaugh. “Cole Sullivan is also stepping up, getting more snaps on defense.”

As the team gears up for their upcoming match, Harbaugh expects high energy and effort from his players. “We aim to be the best special teams unit in these next three games, starting with this one,” he said. “We have to match the intensity of the competition and come out strong.”
