Georgia Tech Offensive Coordinator Buster Faulkner Extends Contract Through 2027
ATLANTA, Ga. — Georgia Tech offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner has signed a contract extension that extends his agreement with the team until January 31, 2027. The details of the contract were obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution through an open records request.
Faulkner, 44, originally signed a contract in 2023, but the recent extension increases his annual salary to $1,250,000. As part of the new deal, Faulkner received a one-time incentive of $250,000, which he will collect on November 30 for remaining with the team through the 2025 regular season. He is also entitled to a similar incentive if he stays on through the 2026 regular season.
The Parkview High School graduate’s extension comes as the Yellow Jackets aim to build on recent successes in the ACC. Head Coach Brent Key expressed his confidence in Faulkner’s leadership and strategy, which have been instrumental in the team’s offensive growth.
Georgia Tech’s performance this season has been noteworthy, and players have credited Faulkner’s guidance for their improvement. Quarterback Haynes King, a key player under Faulkner’s system, has also received honors, including being named a finalist for the Manning Award.
The Yellow Jackets’ recent achievements, including an 8-0 start, mark a significant turnaround for the program, making Faulkner’s extension a crucial step in continuing this momentum.
