Aaron Rodgers Reaches 60,000 Passing Yards Milestone
In a significant achievement for the National Football League (NFL), quarterback Aaron Rodgers reached a major milestone by surpassing 60,000 career passing yards. This accomplishment was recorded during the New York Jets game against the Minnesota Vikings at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, England, on Sunday morning.
Rodgers, a celebrated quarterback who previously spent 18 seasons with the Green Bay Packers, achieved this feat with a seven-yard completion to Tyler Conklin in the third quarter. At that point, the Jets were trailing 17-7 against the Vikings.
The 40-year-old quarterback is now one of only nine players in NFL history to reach 60,000 passing yards. This exclusive group includes Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Peyton Manning, Brett Favre, Ben Roethlisberger, Philip Rivers, Matt Ryan, and Dan Marino.
With Rodgers still active in the league, he has the opportunity to move further up on the list of all-time passing yards, currently sitting behind Dan Marino, who recorded 61,361 passing yards, and Matt Ryan with 62,792 yards.
Rodgers expressed gratitude for this achievement, acknowledging the teammates who contributed to his success. “It feels like I’ve been playing a long time, and naturally, this would be part of the process,” Rodgers said. “I’m thankful for all the guys that caught passes from me, all the guys that blocked for me. I couldn’t name them all but give me a little time,” he stated.
After joining the Jets in 2023, Rodgers nearly reached the milestone last year. However, his season was cut short due to a torn Achilles tendon after playing only four snaps in the season opener.
Rodgers’s career achievements with the Packers are noteworthy. He achieved 10,000 passing yards in 2010, 20,000 in 2012, 30,000 in 2015, 40,000 in 2018, and 50,000 in 2021. His longest completion was a 93-yard touchdown pass to Jordy Nelson in 2011, and he registered the most passing yards to receiver Davante Adams, with 7,529 yards.
