LOS ANGELES, CA – Addison Rae released her new single, “Headphones On,” on April 18, 2025, ahead of her debut album scheduled for release on June 6. The pop star aims to capture listeners with a mix of personal reflection and escapism in her latest track.

Directed by Mitch Ryan, the music video features Rae in pink earmuffs, surrounded by horses in a sweeping landscape. The chorus captures her struggle with adversity, as she sings, “Guess I gotta accept the pain/Need a cigarette to make me feel better/Every good thing comes my way/So I still get dolled up.” Through her lyrics, Rae expresses a desire to find solace in music amidst life’s challenges, including the impact of her parents’ separation.

Rae, who has been teasing the single for several weeks, shared a snippet of the song on her TikTok and Instagram on Thursday. The anticipation builds as fans prepare for her debut album, which has garnered significant attention following her surprise performance at Coachella last weekend.

During Coachella, Rae surprised the audience by performing her collaboration titled “Arcamarine / Aquamarine.” She also used the opportunity to promote her upcoming album, wearing pink underwear emblazoned with the album’s release date. This performance has further increased excitement for her music and upcoming projects.

The release of “Headphones On” follows the debut of her previous singles in February and last October. Rae’s debut EP, “AR,” was successful, marking her transition from social media influencer to a bona fide music artist. Earlier this year, Rae announced her collaborations with songwriters Luka Kloser and Elvira Anderfjärd, who are associated with the renowned Max Martin’s MxM Music publishing company.
