Gold Coast Suns forward Jack Lukosius has formally requested a trade to Port Adelaide, seeking a move back to his home state of South Australia. Despite having two years remaining on his contract with the Suns, the 23-year-old has expressed a desire to join the Power, a move supported by sources close to the player.

Commenting on the situation, Suns’ football operations boss has stated they are open to exploring Lukosius’ options. “We are aware he’s spoken to other clubs and are happy for that to happen,” the operations boss was quoted, indicating Lukosius’ potential return to the Suns should the deal not eventuate.

Lukosius’ potential move is linked to his close relationship with Port Adelaide’s captain, Connor Rozee. Despite being used in various positions during the 2024 season under Suns coach Damien Hardwick, including a shift to defense before returning to his forward role, Lukosius struggled for consistent form, as noted by the Suns management.

Meanwhile, Port Adelaide is facing trade requests from key players, including defender Dan Houston, who is seeking a return to Victoria. Clubs vying for Houston, including Carlton and North Melbourne, have shown particular interest, but Port Adelaide is demanding a strong return for the two-time All-Australian player.

In addition to Lukosius, the Power is looking to acquire Greater Western Sydney‘s unrestricted free agents Isaac Cumming and Harry Perryman, adding complexity to their trade strategies with their current draft position holding a late second-round selection.
