Aldi Lowers Thanksgiving Dinner Costs Amid Inflation Concerns
National grocery store chain Aldi has announced that it will be offering Thanksgiving meals at significantly reduced prices this year. In a recent statement, Aldi revealed that the price reductions aim to provide consumers with a more affordable holiday experience, harkening back to pre-2019 inflation levels.
This year, a complete Thanksgiving meal at the store for 10 people will cost approximately $47, which breaks down to $4.70 per person. The meal includes a 16-pound Butterball turkey, accompanied by a variety of traditional sides such as rolls, mac & cheese, stuffing, and green bean casserole. Customers will also find ingredients for making cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, and pumpkin pie with whipped topping. Pricing for these meals is available until November 27.
Aldi CEO Jason Hart underscored the company’s commitment to affordability, stating, “Every day at Aldi, we are focused on finding ways to deliver the lowest possible prices for our customers—and this Thanksgiving is no different.” Hart added that with 25% of U.S. households shopping at Aldi, offering lower prices on groceries remains a priority for consumers trying to save money.
In addition to the full meal, Aldi is catering to those looking for entertainment options with three $10 bundle offers that include a bottle of Aldi’s California Heritage Pinot Noir, designed to complement various dishes before or after the main meal.
While prices will vary based on location and product availability, the initiative is part of Aldi’s broader strategy to meet consumer demands amidst ongoing financial concerns. The announcement follows a series of moves by supermarkets nationwide to alleviate the burden of inflation on holiday shoppers.
