Alyssa Farah Griffin Returns to ‘The View’ After Illness
NEW YORK, NY — Alyssa Farah Griffin returned to ‘The View‘ on December 4 after missing three consecutive episodes due to illness. The 36-year-old co-host explained that she was suffering from a stomach virus while pregnant, saying, “It’s no fun being sick while 6 ½ months pregnant!”
Griffin shared her experience on Instagram, where she advised people to use hand sanitizer and stay home if feeling unwell. She expressed hope to be back for the December 4 episode, adding that this year’s cold season is particularly tough.
The political commentator, who is expecting her first child with husband Justin Griffin, revealed earlier in October that they are having a baby boy due in February 2026. During her absence, her co-hosts sent her well wishes, eager for her return.
Upon her return, Griffin reassured her colleagues and fans by stating, “I’m feeling totally better, but getting sick while you’re pregnant is no joke.” Other co-hosts celebrated her comeback, with Whoopi Goldberg leading the friendly remarks.
Griffin has previously opened up about her struggles with infertility, including undergoing multiple rounds of IVF and dealing with endometriosis, a condition affecting her ability to conceive. She expressed gratitude for their journey and the miracle of science that allowed them to finally get pregnant after years of trying.
“Both Justin and I just feel so grateful that we were in the position that we were even able to do that many rounds of IVF,” she noted. As she prepares for motherhood, Griffin expressed excitement about welcoming a son.
‘The View’ airs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET on ABC.
