Amc Movie Tickets Discount

Los Angeles, CA – AMC Theatres is set to launch a significant discount for moviegoers starting July 9, 2025. The theater chain will offer a 50% reduction on adult evening ticket prices every Wednesday, coinciding with major film releases like Superman and Jurassic World: Rebirth.

AMC CEO Adam Aron initiated discussions with studios about this new Wednesday discount late last year. The new program aims to replicate the success AMC has seen on Tuesdays, which have become a popular day for discounted tickets in the U.S. and Canada.

According to industry sources, many studios have urged theater owners to consider such discounts to stimulate attendance during slow periods. Wednesday is currently recognized as the weakest box office day of the week.

In a recent statement, Aron emphasized, “We could not afford to make this change until the box office showed true signs of sustained recovery. In April and May, the box office has been booming, indicating a positive trend.”

Currently, adult ticket prices average over $13 on most days, with Tuesdays being the exception at $11.18. The anticipated Wednesday discount may encourage larger audiences seeking affordable entertainment options.

Industry analyst Steve Buck remarked, “It’s exciting to see further market experimentation with ticket pricing to engage consumers. Tuesday has historically seen increased attendance, and it will be interesting to observe the impact of Wednesday discounts.”

As of now, AMC’s initiative is unique, as competitors Cinemark Theatres and Regal Cinemas have yet to announce similar discounts. If successful, AMC’s strategy may prompt other chains to reconsider their pricing models.
