Gavin And Stacey Filming 2024

Fans of the beloved BBC sitcom Gavin & Stacey are eagerly awaiting the highly-anticipated Christmas special scheduled for 2024, marking the show’s final-ever episode. As excitement mounts, speculation is rife about possible plot developments and featured music, particularly considering past episodes’ incorporation of songs by Snow Patrol.

The show’s writers, Ruth Jones and James Corden, have been seen filming on location, leading to various predictions about the new episode’s content. Given the show’s previous use of Snow Patrol’s songs, such as “Chasing Cars” and “You Could Be Happy,” many fans are hopeful that the band’s latest releases might be included in the upcoming special.

Despite this enthusiasm, lead singer Gary Lightbody revealed on Radio 2, in conversation with Scott Mills, that James Corden has not explicitly requested any new music from Snow Patrol for the episode. However, Lightbody expressed openness to the idea, describing it as an honor to be associated with a show of such cultural significance. During a Radio 2 segment with Zoe Ball, Corden admitted it “really did cross [his] mind” to feature Snow Patrol’s latest work, noting “it would be nice to find a space” for it in the special.

With filming now complete on Trinity Street, the cast has bid a fond farewell to the location, expressing gratitude to the show’s devoted fans. Acknowledging the audience’s loyalty and patience, one of the cast members thanked those gathered for their unwavering support over the past 17 years. There is a promise that the Christmas special will not disappoint when it airs, offering a fitting goodbye to Barry and Trinity Street.
