Antonio Pierce Questions Tom Brady’s Dual Role with Raiders and Fox

LAS VEGAS, Nevada — Antonio Pierce, former head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders, has raised eyebrows over Tom Brady‘s dual role as a broadcaster for Fox and a minority owner of the team. During an appearance on SiriusXM Mad Dog Radio, Pierce expressed concerns about potential conflicts of interest.

“This is unprecedented, what we’re seeing,” Pierce said. “I think I would be uncomfortable if it was the other way around, to be honest with you.” He emphasized that Brady, widely regarded as one of the greatest quarterbacks, possesses unique insights that could influence the Raiders.

Pierce noted that it’s not difficult for Brady to pick up information during broadcast preparation or practice sessions. “You’d be foolish to think that he’s not gonna share that with the Raiders,” he added, acknowledging previous conversations they had on the topic.

While some in the league play down concerns about Brady’s involvement, Pierce did not hold back. “Everybody’s gonna give you the political answer and say, ‘Oh, it’s no big deal,’” he said. “I’m calling BS on that.” His comments suggest that Brady’s input could give the Raiders a competitive edge.

Despite Brady’s apparent influence, Pierce reflects on the team’s struggles last season due to timing issues with Brady’s ownership approval. “By the time Brady’s bid was approved in October, it was too late to salvage the season,” he shared.

However, the dynamics are reportedly different this year. “He was at training camp,” Pierce said. “He’s been around, he was at OTAs, he was in the draft meetings. He’s been around a lot more than he was last year with me.” Pierce emphasized that he believes Brady is deeply involved in shaping the team.

As Brady continues to profit from his broadcasting career while maintaining a stake in the Raiders, the NFL may face increasing scrutiny over his dual role.
