Ariana Grande Urges Fans to Stop Sending Hateful Messages Following Album Release
Ariana Grande took to Instagram to address her fans, pleading with them to cease sending hateful messages to individuals in her life in response to her latest album, ‘Eternal Sunshine,’ released on Friday.
The Grammy-winning artist emphasized that sending derogatory messages to people connected to her based on interpretations of her album is contrary to support and not endorsed by her.
Grande, who went through a divorce from Dalton Gomez last year and reportedly began a relationship with Ethan Slater, her co-star in the movie ‘Wicked,’ urged her fans to refrain from such behavior.
Titled after the renowned 2004 film ‘Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,’ starring Kate Winslet and Jim Carrey, Grande’s album explores themes of relationship breakdown and personal growth.
The album’s title track addresses a failed relationship with themes of betrayal and moving on, with poignant lyrics such as, ‘You’re just my eternal sunshine, sunshine.’
In the music video for ‘We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love),’ featuring actor Evan Peters, Grande appears to undergo a memory-erasing procedure, reminiscent of the movie’s premise.
Grande recently appeared as the musical guest on ‘Saturday Night Live,’ performing songs from ‘Eternal Sunshine,’ including ‘Imperfect for You’ and ‘We Can’t Be Friends.’
