Tgl Golf Match Atlanta Drive Vs New York Golf Club

ATLANTA, Ga. — The Atlanta Drive Golf Club will make its debut in the Tomorrow’s Golf League (TGL) on Tuesday night, facing off against the returning New York Golf Club. The match, set to air on ESPN and ESPN+, will feature a star-studded lineup, including Justin Thomas, Billy Horschel, and Patrick Cantlay for Atlanta, while New York will be represented by Cameron Young, Matt Fitzpatrick, and Rickie Fowler.

The TGL, co-founded by golf legends Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, is an indoor, tech-infused league featuring six teams composed of 24 of the world’s top golfers. The regular season consists of 15 matches, with teams vying for a spot in the SoFi Cup Finals Series, scheduled for March 24-25. The top two teams will compete in a best-of-three series to determine the league champion.

Each TGL match includes nine holes of Triples, played as a three-on-three alternate-shot format, followed by six holes of Singles, featuring rotating head-to-head competition. Each hole is worth one point, with ties resulting in zero points and no carryovers.

According to FanDuel Sportsbook odds, Atlanta Drive GC is the slight favorite at -138, while New York GC stands at +110. Data from datagolf suggests Atlanta holds a significant advantage in true strokes gained (+1.30 versus +0.53) and tee-to-green performance (+1.26 to +0.09). However, New York boasts a stronger putting team (+0.44 to +0.04).

With six of the 15 holes exceeding 550 yards, Atlanta’s distance advantage could prove decisive, despite Cameron Young’s notable power for New York. The absence of Xander Schauffele, ranked No. 2 in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR), further tilts the scales in Atlanta’s favor.

The TGL’s unique format, which emphasizes team balance and equal contributions from all players, has so far seen the statistically stronger team emerge victorious. This trend bodes well for Atlanta as they aim to secure their first win in the league.

Fans can catch the action live at 7:00 p.m. Eastern on ESPN and ESPN+. For those looking to place bets, FanDuel Sportsbook offers a variety of markets and promotions, including a risk-free first bet for new users.
