Colorado Avalanche Quebec Nordiques Jerseys

DENVER — The Colorado Avalanche are celebrating 30 years of hockey with a nod to their roots. They have announced they will wear Quebec Nordiques throwback jerseys for seven games in the 2025-26 season, starting with their first game against the Carolina Hurricanes on October 23.

The team revealed the special Heritage Series jerseys on October 21, showcasing design elements that pay homage to the franchise’s history in Quebec. The main features include an igloo logo, the fleur-de-lis symbol, and a blue, red, and white color scheme inspired by the French flag.

The jersey’s igloo crest symbolizes the rugged landscape of Quebec, and interestingly, the shape mimics the letter “N,” representing Nordiques, which means “Northerners” in English. The fleur-de-lis, featured on the jersey’s shoulders and hem, is a tribute to Quebec’s provincial flag and French-Canadian heritage.

Fans can purchase the jerseys starting October 24 online at AltitudeAuthentics.com at 10 a.m. MT, and in-person sales will begin at Noon MT at the store located at Ball Arena, open until 7 p.m. MT.

Tickets for all seven games can be bought at Ticketmaster.com. Moreover, starting on October 24, fans can buy a limited-edition Nordiques hat with specific game ticket purchases under the Heritage Series Ticket Package, specifically for matches on November 29, January 12, March 16, April 1, and April 11.

The Avalanche, previously the Nordiques, relocated to Colorado in 1995 after 17 seasons in Quebec and won their first Stanley Cup the very next year. Since then, they have won two additional championships, one in 2001 and another in 2022.
