Lahaina, HI – N.C. State faced Texas in the fifth place game of the Southwest Maui Invitational on November 26, 2025. The game took place at the Lahaina Civic Center, starting at 9:30 PM local time.

Both teams showed strong offensive performances. In the first half, N.C. State was led by Dailyn Swain, who executed a significant dunk that helped maintain a slim lead. The Wolfpack entered a timeout with a score of 25-35, but their momentum continued as Jordan Pope made a three-point jumper shortly after, bringing the score to 25-33.

The statistical analysis from ESPN indicated that N.C. State shot 43 percent from the field, while Texas enjoyed an impressive 58 percent shooting accuracy. Three-point shooting also favored Texas, who made 67 percent of their attempts compared to N.C. State’s 50 percent.

As the first half drew to a close, Texas completed a scoring run of 15-5, putting them ahead at 21-17. The half ended with a tightly contested score, reflecting the competitive nature of both teams.

Lahaina, known for hosting this prestigious tournament, witnessed numerous fans supporting their teams as they battled for supremacy in the fifth place matchup. The Wolfpack looked to regain their momentum after a previous loss against Seton Hall, hoping to finish strong in this festive basketball tournament.

N.C. State coach Will Wade emphasized the need for focus and execution to secure a win, reminding his team that every game could turn the tide of their season. They are currently ranked 23rd in the AP Top 25 and are eager to improve their standings.
