The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) revealed the much-anticipated schedule for the remaining matches of the ongoing IPL 2024 season on March 25. Contrary to earlier speculations, the BCCI confirmed that the entire tournament will indeed be conducted in India this year.
Ahmedabad has been chosen to host the Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator matches at the prestigious Narendra Modi Stadium on May 21 and 22 respectively. The Qualifier 2 and the grand finale will be held in Chennai at the iconic Chepauk stadium. Qualifier 2 is slated for May 24, with the final showdown scheduled for May 26.
Given the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in India, there were concerns regarding a possible shift of the IPL matches, but the recent announcement has put those speculations to rest. The final match of the first phase is set to take place on April 7 between Lucknow and Gujarat Titans at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, kicking off the excitement for the next stage.
The commencement of the second phase is scheduled for April 8 at the Chepauk stadium, where Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will go head-to-head against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), setting the tone for the action-packed phase to follow.
