N.C. State Begins 2024 Season With Delayed Home Opener Against Western Carolina
The 2024 season opener for N.C. State against Western Carolina faced a delay due to lightning, pushing the originally scheduled kickoff of 7 p.m. back to 7:32 p.m. The game is being broadcasted on the ACC Network and is taking place at Carter-Finley Stadium.
Entering its 12th season under head coach Dave Doeren, N.C. State is aiming for a championship title following four consecutive seasons with at least eight wins. The team is overcoming the loss of linebacker Payton Wilson, the reigning ACC Defensive Player of the Year, yet retains defensive leaders Davin Vann and Aydan White.
To bolster the offense, N.C. State has acquired four new starters from the transfer portal. Among these additions is former Coastal Carolina quarterback Grayson McCall, along with former Duke running back Jordan Waters, former Notre Dame center Zeke Correll, and former Ohio State receiver Noah Rogers. These players will support wide receiver KC Concepcion, who has been recognized as the ACC Rookie of the Year.
After the home opener in Raleigh, the Wolfpack will travel to Charlotte to compete against No. 15 Tennessee in the Duke’s Mayo Classic.
