Belmont at the Big A Gains $39,250 Pick 6 Carryover for Sunday

New York, NY – Belmont at the Big A will feature a $39,250 double Pick 6 carryover this Sunday after the multi-race wager went unsolved for the second consecutive day on Saturday. Bettors who correctly picked 5-of-6 winners received $2,869.
The Pick 6 sequence began in Race 6, where Mommy’s Turn [No. 3, $6] won a 1 1/16-mile inner turf maiden race for state-breds, with Jose Lezcano riding for five-time Eclipse Award-winning trainer Chad Brown.
Lezcano achieved another victory in Race 7, the $150,000 Listed Elusive Quality over the outer turf, as My Boy Prince [No. 10, $17.60] captured a strong win for Hall of Fame trainer Mark Casse.
Race 8 showcased the biggest upset of the day, with Hatch [No. 6, $70.50], the 34-1 longshot, winning the six-furlong claiming sprint. Omar Hernandez Moreno rode the horse for trainer Eduardo Jones.
In Race 9, Scarlet Poppy [No. 4, $6.80] demonstrated strong determination under jockey Adam Beschizza, winning a one-mile allowance optional-claimer over the inner turf, while staving off a late challenge from Awesome Czech.
The feature race of the day, the Grade 2 Fort Marcy, saw Deterministic [No. 3, $6.20] set a course record under Kendrick Carmouche, winning a nine-furlong outer turf test for older horses.
In Race 11, Prince of Joy [No. 6, $32.40] achieved a 15-1 upset, defeating Honorary Degree with Christian Maragh riding for trainer Ricardo Legall.
Sunday’s Pick 6 will begin in Race 5 at approximately 2:59 p.m. Eastern and features three Grade 3 races totaling $175,000. The first post for the 10-race card is set for 1:10 p.m.
