Ben Stokes Reacts To Past Claims By Former Australia Cricketer Brad Haddin

England‘s cricket sensation, Ben Stokes, found himself at the center of a storm as former Australia cricketer, Brad Haddin, strongly countered claims made by Michael Atherton regarding an incident during Stokes’ debut in the Ashes series.

In a column for The Telegraph UK, Atherton narrated a confrontation between Haddin and Stokes, noting the intense exchange that took place during the 2013 Ashes.

Atherton described Stokes as a player not to be trifled with, citing his immediate impact in the high-pressure series.

The incident, as reported by Atherton, involved a warning from James Anderson to Haddin, hinting at Stokes’ fierce on-field demeanor.

Contrary to Atherton’s depiction, Haddin vehemently dismissed the former England captain’s account as ‘utter garbage,’ denouncing it as a ‘love letter’ to Stokes.

Haddin revealed his version of events during the said confrontation, highlighting a different narrative where he congratulated Stokes on his first Test wicket despite the on-field tension.

The ex-Australia wicketkeeper further emphasized that the Australian team had their own tactics and were not intimidated by Stokes during the match.

Stokes, who is set to play his 100th Test match, has been a pivotal figure in English cricket, known for his all-round prowess and leadership qualities.

His contributions, both with bat and ball, have earned him accolades, notably being recognized as the ICC Men’s Test Cricketer of the Year in 2022.

As England prepares for the third Test against India in Rajkot, Stokes will aim to continue his impressive form and lead his team to victory in the ICC World Test Championship.
