CHICAGO, Ill. — Tyler Bertuzzi is set to rejoin the Chicago Blackhawks lineup against the Seattle Kraken on Thursday night after missing the last two games due to an upper-body injury.

Head coach Jeff Blashill confirmed Bertuzzi’s return ahead of the game at the United Center, which is crucial for the Blackhawks as they aim for a fifth win in their last six contests. Bertuzzi, 30, missed the last two matchups following a hard hit into the boards by New Jersey Devils defenseman Brenden Dillon.

During a morning skate, Bertuzzi participated in line rushes with teammates Frank Nazar and Oliver Moore, signaling his readiness to get back on the ice. He will also rejoin the power play alongside standout rookie Connor Bedard, who leads the team with 29 points this season.

“Having Tyler back is important for a lot of things,” Blashill said. “He’s a natural net-front guy and knows how to be in the right spot. That kind of presence can elevate the play of others around him.”

Bertuzzi has recorded nine goals and six assists for 15 points in 16 games this season, sitting tied for second on the team in scoring. His performance thus far is a significant improvement from his previous seasons, where he averaged less than one point per game.

Since Bertuzzi went out, the Blackhawks have performed well, securing victories against the Toronto Maple Leafs and Calgary Flames, powered especially by a hat trick from Bedard. The team currently holds a 10-5-4 record and finds itself tied for third in the Central Division.

As the Blackhawks prepare for the Kraken, who are closely trailing them in the standings, each game holds increasing significance as the competitive Western Conference season progresses.

The puck drops at 8:00 p.m. ET, and fans are eager to see how Bertuzzi’s return impacts the game.
