Billy Flynn Confirms Role as Aristotle Dumas on Y&R

Los Angeles, CA — Billy Flynn confirmed exclusively to Us Weekly that he will debut as Aristotle Dumas on the CBS soap opera, The Young and the Restless. Flynn, 40, previously portrayed Chad DiMera on Days of Our Lives for nearly a decade before transitioning to the new role.
In an interview, Flynn described the transition as a mix of excitement and fear. “There’s a lot of moving parts that were involved,” he said. “It was a whirlwind of emotions — mainly excitement, but there was fear involved. I was leaving something that was very comfortable and seemingly secure.” The actor expressed his gratitude towards the cast and crew of Y&R for their warm welcome.
Flynn explained that the anticipation surrounding the character of Aristotle Dumas adds to the pressure. “The fact that there has been so much hype surrounding Aristotle Dumas makes it even more nerve-wracking,” he said. Fans of the show have been in suspense over Dumas’s true identity and connection to prominent families in Genoa City.
The character was teased as a mysterious business tycoon for months. “I remember watching the monitor the first day, and was so impressed by everybody’s talent that I started to get really nervous again,” Flynn admitted. He compared his character to “the person behind the Great Gatsby,” suggesting a complex backstory is to come.
The long-running soap operates on suspenseful storylines and plot twists, and fans have eagerly awaited Flynn’s first appearance as Dumas. The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS.
