Supercars has recently announced a groundbreaking $100,000 partnership with Boost Mobile, revolving around the sponsorship of qualifying sessions in the season.

The deal involves Boost Mobile taking on the naming rights for Supercars Qualifying, a significant sponsorship property in the category’s portfolio, replacing Armor All which had held the position since 2006.

As part of the arrangement, there will be a substantial increase in prize money for pole positions, starting with a reward of $5,000 for each pole position at the upcoming Thrifty Bathurst 500, a notable bump from the regular $1,000.

The Pole Champion Award, given to the driver with the most poles in the season, has seen its prize money go up from $10,000 to $25,000, adding an extra layer of excitement and competition to the qualifying sessions.

Boost Mobile’s founder, Peter Adderton, known for his criticism of Supercars management, has ironically led Boost into this significant sponsorship deal despite his public critiques. Adderton’s company has also been linked with sponsoring the Gold Coast 500 in the past.

Supercars’ General Manager of Commercial, Jamie Black, expressed his satisfaction with the new partnership, emphasizing Boost Mobile’s support and cooperation in enhancing the fan experience and promoting the category’s fastest talents.

Jason Haynes from Boost Mobile echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the brand’s commitment to showcasing top-tier talent and thrilling experiences in motorsport. Haynes expressed excitement at the prospect of awarding the inaugural Boost Mobile Pole cheque at the upcoming Thrifty Bathurst 500.
