Box Office Success ‘Stree 2’ Set for OTT Launch on Amazon Prime

Fans have been eagerly anticipating the release of ‘Stree 2‘ on OTT platforms, and their wait is finally over. The film, which has been a sensational hit at the box office, is now available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video. However, viewers should be prepared to pay a rental fee to watch it from the comfort of their homes.

The horror-comedy ‘Stree 2′ hit theaters nearly a month and a half ago and has shown remarkable staying power. It has grossed over 600 crores at the domestic box office, with expectations of further growth in its earnings. The film stars Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles, both of whom have been praised for their performances.

According to recent reports, many of Shraddha Kapoor’s fans visited theaters two to three times to watch the film. Now, they have another opportunity to see it as ‘Stree 2’ makes its debut on OTT. The original ‘Stree’ film is available on Disney Plus Hotstar, but the sequel is available on Amazon Prime Video at a rental cost.

‘Stree 2’ is a sequel to the 2013 film ‘Stree’ and has been directed by Amar Kaushik. Besides Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, the film features Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana in significant roles. Additionally, Varun Dhawan and Akshay Kumar appear in cameo roles. The film ends in a manner that suggests a third part might be even more intriguing.

Produced under Maddock Films, ‘Stree 2’ is part of the studio’s supernatural universe which began with ‘Stree’ in 2018. This was followed by Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon’s ‘Bhediya‘ in 2022, and the film ‘Manjyu,’ starring Sharvari Wagh, which also did well. ‘Stree 2’ garnered over 800 crores globally since its release on August 15.

Regarding its OTT release, reports suggest that ‘Stree 2’ could be available on Amazon Prime from September 27. However, the official announcement of the release date is yet to be made. If the film continues to perform well in theaters, there is a possibility that the OTT release might be postponed. Fans will need to wait until September 27 to see if it becomes available or if the release is delayed until October.
