Boyzone Star Keith Duffy Remains Hopeful in Saving 25-Year Marriage with Wife Lisa Smith
Boyzone star Keith Duffy is reportedly ‘hopeful’ he can save his marriage to wife Lisa Smith amid claims they have split. It is understood Keith, 49, moved out of the £1.15 million Dublin home he shared with his wife of 25 years just before Christmas. However, sources said he isn’t ready to call time on their union just yet, revealing: ‘There is no one else involved.’ It is serious, but Keith is hopeful that they can sort this thing out. They care deeply for one another and their children.’
Keith and Lisa share two children, son Jay, 27, and daughter Mia, 23.
Reports of their split emerged on Saturday as it was claimed Keith is ‘in bits’. A source told the Mirror: ‘It has come as a shock to everyone. Back in July, they appeared happier than ever while celebrating 25 years together on a trip of a lifetime to the French Riviera.’ The source added that they were ‘trying to keep the divorce civil’ for the sake of their children. The couple has now unfollowed each other on social media.
Pop star Keith and Lisa met in a nightclub in 1995 and she fell pregnant with their son Jay nine months later. Former Coronation Street actor Keith asked Lisa to marry him in 1998, and they said ‘I do’ just two days later in Las Vegas.
In July last year, Keith took to Instagram to share a picture of himself and Lisa as they celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in the South of France. He wrote at the time: ‘Celebrating 25 years in style. The French Riviera doesn’t disappoint.’ Lisa wrote: ‘Celebrating 25 years married to my bestie, longest time ever I’ve had him home all to myself! Love him even more, thanks for the laughs and the joy of being loved, feeling very blessed #stillgoingstrong.’
