Bragantino and Atlético-MG Clash in Crucial Serie A Match
BRAGANÇA PAULISTA, Brazil — The Red Bull Bragantino will face Atlético Mineiro on Sunday, November 16, at 7 p.m. in the Cícero de Souza Marques stadium. This match is part of the 37th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro Series A and was scheduled earlier due to Atlético’s participation in the upcoming Copa Sul-Americana final.
Bragantino enters this match with momentum, having won their last two games against Corinthians and São Paulo. The team is currently in 11th place with 42 points, having distanced itself from the relegation zone. Coach Vagner Mancini has seen his squad improve since taking over, as they aim for a third consecutive win to push closer to the Libertadores qualification spots.
On the other hand, Atlético Mineiro, coached by Jorge Sampaoli, recently drew against Fortaleza in a thrilling 3-3 finish. Despite this setback, the team remains strong, boasting seven games without defeat, including three wins and four draws, and currently sits in 9th place with 44 points. Sampaoli is focused on maintaining a competitive edge before their final match on November 22 against Lanús.
Bragantino will see the return of players Eduardo Sasha and Juninho Capixaba, who were previously suspended, while Pedro Henrique and Vanderlan are out due to suspensions for receiving yellow cards. Mancini is expected to make some strategic choices in the starting lineup, which could include placing Sasha back in the attack alongside Isidro Pitta.
Atlético will be without three players who have been called up for international duty: Iván Román (Chile), Júnior Alonso (Paraguay), and Alan Franco (Ecuador). Despite these absences, the team aims to field its strongest lineup to build confidence ahead of their continental final.
The match will be broadcast live on Premiere, offering fans an opportunity to follow all the action as both teams look to secure vital points for their campaigns.
