Brian Snitker Atlanta Braves Manager News

ATLANTA, Ga. — Brian Snitker, who led the Atlanta Braves to a 2021 World Series championship, will not return as the team’s manager after the Braves failed to make the postseason for the first time since 2017. Sources reported that Snitker informed the organization of his decision on Tuesday.

After a disappointing 76-86 season, Snitker’s contract expired, marking the end of his ninth season at the helm. He has been a part of the Braves organization since 1977, serving as a player, coach, and manager. Following the Braves’ last game on September 28, Snitker expressed uncertainty about his future but remained optimistic: “I still feel good,” he said.

General manager Alex Anthopoulos previously indicated that Snitker would always be part of the Braves organization, describing him as a “Brave for life.” However, he did not elaborate on Snitker’s future in management.

This past season saw some highlights, including a 10-game winning streak from September 14 to September 23, which contributed to Snitker’s positive outlook on the team’s end-of-season performance. Despite the overall disappointing record, he noted there were encouraging signs.

As part of his transition, Snitker will take on a senior advisory role within the Braves organization.
