Brock Bowers Discusses Injury and Safe Driving Partnership

HENDERSON, Nev. — Brock Bowers, the star tight end for the Las Vegas Raiders, is addressing his recent knee injury and his partnership with USAA for a safe driving campaign. In the 2024 NFL season, Bowers had an impressive rookie year, achieving 1,194 yards, five touchdowns, and setting a single-season record for receptions by a rookie.
However, Bowers is now sidelined after suffering a knee injury that has kept him out of the last two games and will likely keep him out of a third. In an interview with Newsweek Sports, Bowers shared his thoughts on his recovery and the impact of his injuries.
“It’s feeling better, man,” Bowers said about his knee. “I just try to get better every single day. Hopefully, I can get back out there soon.” He expressed frustration about not being able to perform at his best. “It’s tough not being out there,” he added.
This week, Bowers partnered with USAA to promote safe driving during National Teen Driver Safety Week, which runs from October 19 to 25. Bowers participated in the campaign by giving a speech and testing USAA’s Auto Simulator experience, which helps drivers navigate driving distractions safely.
In his speech, Bowers emphasized the importance of road safety, acknowledging the role of first responders in keeping the community safe. “Got to keep the road safe,” he stated. “Huge thanks to policemen and first responders.”
The Raiders are coming off a much-needed win, ending a four-game losing streak. In light of this, Bowers described the atmosphere in the locker room after the victory as “great” and “a little bit of relief.”
With Bowers and fellow wide receiver Jakobi Meyers both injured, the Raiders will rely on players like Tre Tucker and Ashton Jeanty for upcoming games. Despite the challenges, Bowers remains optimistic about the team’s chances for the rest of the season.
“We’ve got a lot of season left,” he said. “I just want to get out there, make some plays, have some fun, and win some football games.”
