Bruins Recall Blumel and Tufte Amidst Injury Setbacks
Boston, MA – The Boston Bruins announced important roster changes on November 17, 2025, as they face mounting injuries among key players. General Manager Don Sweeney reported that forwards Viktor Arvidsson and Casey Mittelstadt were placed on injured reserve, and defenseman Jordan Harris was moved to long-term injured reserve. The team has recalled forwards Matej Blumel and Riley Tufte from the Providence Bruins.
Arvidsson, 32, has played 20 games for Boston this season, scoring six goals and assisting on four for 10 points. The veteran forward has a total of 200 career goals and 399 points in 633 NHL games with multiple teams, including Nashville where he was drafted in 2014.
Mittelstadt, 26, has an impressive start this season, recording four goals and five assists in 15 games. He has accumulated 245 career points in 453 NHL games since being drafted by Buffalo in 2017.
Jordan Harris, 25, has played only five games this season, contributing one goal and one assist. He was drafted by Montreal in 2018 and has played 169 NHL games.
Matej Blumel, 25, has had a strong season in Providence, leading the team with 11 assists and ranking third for points with 13 in 13 games. Previously, he topped the AHL with 39 goals during the 2024-25 season.
Riley Tufte, 27, has emerged as a top scorer for the Providence Bruins this season, tallying eight goals and eight assists for 16 points. He has a total of 182 points across 344 AHL games.
These roster shifts come as the Bruins prepare for a challenging matchup against the Carolina Hurricanes. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET on Monday night. Coach Marco Sturm will have to adapt his strategies in light of the current injuries, as the team aims to maintain their winning momentum.
