Buccaneers Tackle Goedeke Activated for Possible Return from Injury

TAMPA, Florida — The Tampa Bay Buccaneers may soon welcome back a key player as offensive tackle Luke Goedeke has activated his 21-day practice window, signaling a potential return from injured reserve. Goedeke has been sidelined since Week 2 due to a foot injury, which has left a notable gap in the Buccaneers’ offensive line.
The Buccaneers officially announced Goedeke’s activation on Monday. Since his injury, the team has faced challenges with their offensive line, particularly with right tackle Charlie Heck stepping in. Unfortunately, Heck’s performance has struggled, as he has ranked among the worst in the league for pass protection, allowing 32 pressures this season, according to Pro Football Focus.
Goedeke’s return could significantly improve the Buccaneers’ performance. Last season, he allowed only 17 pressures, showcasing his effectiveness at the position. The absence of Goedeke has also impacted the guards next to him, as the team has dealt with several changes in that area.
It is unclear exactly when Goedeke will return. He has until the end of his practice window, which spans three weeks from Monday, to make his comeback. This could happen as early as the upcoming game against the New England Patriots or as late as the matchup against the Los Angeles Rams on November 23. The Buccaneers will provide more updates on his status following their practice on Wednesday, after a bye week.
