The Canterbury Bulldogs pulled off a stunning upset against the Brisbane Broncos, winning 41-16 at Lang Park in an electrifying display of rugby league.

Despite missing their captain, Stephen Crichton, the Bulldogs showcased their attacking prowess under the guidance of coach Cameron Ciraldo. Fullback Connor Tracey stole the spotlight with an impressive hat-trick, helping his team to a crucial victory.

Canterbury’s game plan was clear from the start, as they spun the ball to the edges and ripped through Brisbane’s defense. The Bulldogs struck first, with Bronson Xerri scoring early on, followed by a succession of dazzling tries that left the Broncos scrambling.

The highlight of the match came from a well-executed play that harked back to the club’s glory days. Reed Mahoney‘s clever chip kick found Jacob Kiraz, who assisted Jeral Skelton for a spectacular try.

Brisbane managed to respond with a solo effort from Reece Walsh, who broke through a handful of defenders to score. Although they briefly looked like they might mount a comeback, the Bulldogs quickly regained control of the match with more tries from Kikau and Tracey.

The second half was a continuation of Canterbury’s dominance, as the Broncos failed to find answers to the relentless barrage of tries. A consolation try from veteran Martin Taupau, marking his 250th NRL game, was overshadowed by the Bulldogs’ clinical performance.

The loss puts the Broncos’ finals hopes in jeopardy, needing to win all their remaining matches. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs’ impressive display cements their credentials for a strong finals run.
