CHENNAI, IndiaJasprit Bumrah delivered a stunning yorker to dismiss Haris Rauf during the Asia Cup 2025 Final in Dubai on Sunday, adding fuel to an already heated match between India and Pakistan.

Bumrah’s bowling left Rauf’s off stump shattered in the 18th over, after Rauf had scored just six runs. Following the dismissal, Bumrah performed an exaggerated jet gesture, reminiscent of Rauf’s taunting mimicry earlier in the tournament, which referred to a military conflict between the two nations.

Rauf, known for his brashness on the field, had previously made headlines during the Super Fours stage, where he gestured that he would crash a plane as fans looked on. His antics evidently provoked Bumrah, who did not hold back in his response. Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh celebrated Bumrah’s dismissal on social media.

The atmosphere in the stadium was tense, marking a continuation of the political hostilities often reflected in the cricket rivalry. India captain Suryakumar Yadav’s team had previously skipped customary handshakes after their matches. Following those incidents, Pakistan lodged an official complaint with the ICC.

On the field, India’s bowlers wreaked havoc; Kuldeep Yadav claimed four wickets while Bumrah finished with two dismissals for 25 runs. The Indian bowlers took control early, restricting Pakistan to a total of 146 runs in just under 20 overs. Fakhar Zaman’s score of 46 and Sahibzada Farhan’s 57 were the only significant contributions to the score.

With India opting to bowl first after winning the toss, the Pakistani batting lineup struggled under pressure, losing nine wickets for just 33 runs in a horrific mid-innings collapse.

As Bumrah celebrated his dismissal with joyful mockery, he symbolized not only his individual prowess but also the broader confidence of the Indian side amidst their fierce rivalry against Pakistan.
