DETROIT, Michigan — Cade Cunningham is back in the starting lineup for the Detroit Pistons as they prepare to take on the Memphis Grizzlies tonight at 7 p.m. ET at Little Caesars Arena. The star guard missed several games due to a calf injury but aims to contribute to the team’s playoff push.

The Pistons, currently holding the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference, have secured their first playoff berth since the 2018-19 season. They are looking to bounce back after losing three of their last four games.

With Cunningham’s return, the Pistons hope to ride the momentum from a recent 117-105 victory against the Toronto Raptors, where they covered the spread as 10-point favorites. Center Jalen Duren had a standout performance, posting a double-double with 21 points and 18 rebounds, while shooting guard Desmond Bane added 23 points.

The Grizzlies are entering this matchup after a narrow 110-108 victory against the Miami Heat, keeping them fighting for position in the Western Conference standings. Memphis currently sits in sixth place, two games behind the third-place Los Angeles Lakers.

“Cade is back and looking to round into peak form,” a source close to the Pistons said. “Having Jalen back is vital as he brings rebounding and helps create plays for Cade.” However, Tobias Harris remains sidelined due to injury.

Detroit has struggled against the Grizzlies historically, losing their last eight encounters. As the two teams meet tonight, the Pistons are favored by 1.5 points with an over/under set at 242.5 total points.

The upcoming matchup holds significant implications for both teams. While Detroit aims to solidify its playoff standing, Memphis is fighting to maintain a spot within the top six.

Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. ET, and fans can catch the action on Fan Duel Sports Network Detroit. With a strong showing, Detroit hopes to capitalize on their home court advantage and build some momentum heading into the playoffs.
