Calgary Flames Extend Defenceman Daniil Miromanov’s Contract After Trade with Vegas Golden Knights
The Calgary Flames have solidified their blue line by extending the contract of defenceman Daniil Miromanov following a recent trade with the Vegas Golden Knights.
Miromanov, who would have otherwise become a Group 6 unrestricted free agent in the upcoming summer, inked a two-year deal worth a total of $2.5 million with an annual average value of $1.25 million.
Acquired alongside conditional 2025 first and third-round draft picks in exchange for Noah Hanifin, Miromanov’s arrival adds depth and versatility to the Flames’ defensive lineup.
The 26-year-old Russian blueliner, previously with the Vegas Golden Knights, showcased his skills over a brief stint with the team this season, notching one goal and five assists in five games with the Henderson Silver Knights.
Miromanov, who went undrafted, made a significant impact in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) playing for Sochi HC before making the transition to the NHL.
With a total of two goals and seven points in 29 NHL games under his belt, Miromanov’s addition is expected to bolster the Flames’ defensive capabilities as they continue their pursuit for playoff contention.
