Canada To Host 13 Games At 2026 Fifa World Cup In Vancouver And Toronto

Canada has been chosen to host 13 out of the 104 games that will take place at the highly anticipated 2026 FIFA World Cup. Vancouver and Toronto will be the proud hosts of the matches, with seven games scheduled in Vancouver and six in Toronto.

As expected, the majority of the games, a total of 78, will be held in the United States, while Mexico will also host 13 games alongside Canada. This global soccer showcase, featuring an expanded 48-team tournament, will kick off on June 11 at Mexico City’s historic Azteca Stadium and conclude on July 19 with the final match at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The bronze-medal game will be held at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.

The Canadian men’s team will mark an important milestone by playing in the opening game on Canadian soil, which will be held at Toronto’s BMO Field on June 12. In total, Canada will stage 10 opening-round games, with an equal number of matches hosted in both Vancouver and Toronto. B.C. Place Stadium in Vancouver will also host two additional matches for the opening round.

In addition to the opening round games, both Vancouver and Toronto will also host knockout matches. Vancouver will stage a round-of-32 match and a round-of-16 match, while Toronto will host a round-of-32 match as well.

The United States’ first group game will be played at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, with Seattle being another host city for U.S. group games.

The originally planned 80-game tournament was altered to include an additional 24 games during the group phase. The United States was initially expected to host 60 games, with Canada and Mexico each hosting 10. The tournament draw in December 2025 will determine the full schedule, which will include 45 teams that have yet to qualify.

A total of 16 host cities will participate in the 2026 World Cup, with two in Canada, three in Mexico, and the rest in the United States. The city hosting the most games will be Arlington, Texas, with AT&T Stadium hosting nine matches.
