Canadian Duo Clinches Silver At Norceca Beach Volleyball Tour In Managua

At the recent NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour tournament in the vibrant city of Managua, Nicaragua, the pair named Rouzbeh Rahnavard & Tynan Gannett representing Canada managed to secure the men’s silver medal. This achievement came with the backing of the FIVB Volleyball Empowerment.

Team Canada has been granted a substantial amount of CHF 969,300 from the FIVB Volleyball Empowerment initiative, out of which CHF 144,000 was dedicated to coaching support for the Canadian men’s national beach volleyball duos honing their skills under the guidance of coach Josh Nichol.

Entering the tournament seeded third, the 24-year-old Rahnavard and the 21-year-old Gannett encountered an initial loss but rapidly gained momentum by claiming four consecutive wins to reach the finals.

In the highly competitive final matchup, Rahnavard & Gannett were narrowly defeated by the second-seeded American duo comprising Timothy Brewster & Kyle Friend, conceding a 2-0 (21-19, 22-20) defeat.

The women’s tourney had Molly Shaw & Chloe Loreen from USA emerge victorious, clinching the top spot on the podium for the second time in the NORCECA Tour.

The men’s and women’s podiums featured stellar performances from teams hailing from the USA & Canada, with the event in Managua witnessing the participation of 15 men’s and 16 women’s teams from 13 different countries.

The competitive spirit at the event ensures excitement for the upcoming leg of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour set to take place in Honduras.
