Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau Wishes Muslim Communities A Peaceful Ramadan

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has extended his well wishes to Muslim communities in Canada and worldwide as they commence the observance of Ramadan at sundown today.

In his statement, Trudeau emphasized the significance of Ramadan as a period where individuals come together in prayer, kindness, and generosity.

The Prime Minister highlighted the iftar, the traditional meal shared after daily fasting, as a time for families and loved ones to gather and bond.

With nearly 1.8 million Muslims calling Canada home, Trudeau acknowledged the substantial contributions of Muslim Canadians to the country’s prosperity and diversity.

In light of the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Trudeau reiterated Canada’s support for a sustainable ceasefire and the unrestricted delivery of humanitarian aid to affected civilians.

Trudeau emphasized the importance of standing united against Islamophobia, racism, and hatred, urging collective action to combat such injustices whenever they arise.

The Prime Minister concluded his statement by wishing all Muslim communities in Canada a blessed and peaceful Ramadan, echoing the sentiment in Arabic – ‘Ramadan Mubarak’.
