Capcom Cup 11 Tokyo Street Fighter Tournament

Tokyo, Japan — The Capcom Cup 11 has officially begun, marking its inaugural event in the heart of the Street Fighter franchise’s birthplace. Over 40 top players, including FLY|Punk and WBG|MenaRD, are vying for the champion’s title and a grand prize of $1 million.

This year, Capcom Cup participants are split into eight groups, each consisting of six players who will compete in a round-robin format. The top two from each group will advance to a top 16 bracket, where the stakes rise with matches transitioning to a best-of-three format. The winners will not only compete for the grand prize but also a chance to be crowned the champion of the Street Fighter League championships, with an additional $150,000 prize pool on the line.

“The competition is tougher than ever, and the talent on display this year is astounding,” said Capcom representative John Smith. “Players are hungry for that life-changing sum of $1 million, and we’re thrilled to bring this event to Tokyo.”

As the tournament unfolds, notable players such as KSG|Xiaohai and Rohto|Tokido showcase their skills, with intense matches expected throughout the weekend. Some highlights from the first day include Takamura defeating Talon|HotDog29 and NIP|Phenom taking a match against FLY|Punk. The round-robin play continues through several days, culminating in the finals scheduled for Sunday.

In the winners bracket, Takamura currently leads with a 4-1 set record, while players like NIP|Phenom and DFM|Itabashi Zangief closely follow. For those in the losers bracket, the pressure mounts as they fight for survival in the tournament.

With the anticipation growing, the Capcom Cup 11 promises to be an exciting battleground for fans and competitors alike. Streaming is available live for fans to catch all the action as the players battle for glory on a global stage.
