London, England — Filming has commenced for ‘The Moment’, a film starring British singer-songwriter Charli XCX and produced by her production company, Studio365. The production began in March 2025 and is associated with A24, further marking Charli’s debut in filmmaking.
The film, which is set to be directed by Aidan Zamiri, will also feature a remarkable cast including Alexander Skarsgård, Rosanna Arquette, Trew Mullen, Isaac Cole Powell, Rish Shah, Kate Berlant, and Jamie Demetriou. Zamiri, who has worked extensively with Charli XCX on multiple music videos, co-wrote the screenplay with Bertie Brandes.
‘The Moment’ is reported to delve into the life of a pop star as she prepares for her first major arena tour. Although A24 has yet to confirm the film’s details, the project is said to be a mockumentary—a genre that seeks to blend fictional narrative with real-life style documentation.
This production marks a significant milestone for Charli XCX, whose real name is Charlotte Aitchison. Recently, she garnered three Grammy Awards for her latest album, ‘Brat’, showcasing her prowess in the music industry. The film offers her a platform to expand her artistic expression beyond music.
In exploring her new role as a producer, Charli XCX expressed her commitment to thoroughly learning the craft of filmmaking. Previously, she noted in an interview, “I hate it when musicians dive into a different field, head-first, without really researching or learning much of anything about it.” Her dedication to honing her skills reflects her thoughtful approach to the entertainment industry.
As part of the production team, David Hinojosa is handling the project via 2AM, while Brandon Creed, Mikey Schwartz-Wright, and Zach Nutman are onboard as executive producers. A24 is responsible for the film’s global distribution.
Alongside her work on ‘The Moment’, Charli XCX is set to appear in several upcoming films, including Gregg Araki’s ‘I Want Your Sex’, Daniel Goldhaber’s ‘Faces of Death’, and Julia Jackman’s ‘100 Nights of Hero’. Her impressive transition into acting showcases her versatility as a performer.
