Chelsea Look to Bounce Back Against Fulham in West London Derby
Chelsea will be aiming to recover from their recent poor performances when they face Fulham at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Saturday.
The Blues, who have struggled this season, suffered a 1-0 defeat in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Middlesbrough on Tuesday night.
The Blues go into this match as the favourites ahead of their clash while neighbours Fulham are 9/2 to surprise a few at Stamford Bridge and a draw is 3/1.
Hosts Chelsea are unbeaten at home to Fulham in their last 18 home league meetings and you will have to go back to October 1979 for the Cottagers last win at Stamford Bridge.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side had shown signs of improvement by securing three consecutive victories, a feat they had achieved only once before this season.
Pochettino will be hoping that the loss to Middlesbrough was just a temporary setback and that his team can regain their form against their London rivals.
Fulham, managed by Marco Silva, ended 2023 on a positive note with a well-deserved 2-1 win over Arsenal at Craven Cottage on New Year’s Eve.
The Cottagers also faced Carabao Cup action during the week, narrowly losing 2-1 to Premier League leaders Liverpool in the first leg of their semi-final tie.
