Chesterfield Clinch National League Title With Dominant Victory Over Boreham Wood

Chesterfield sealed their promotion back to the English Football League and clinched the National League title with a commanding 3-0 victory over Boreham Wood at the esteemed SMH Group Stadium.

Captain Jamie Grimes netted a brace, while Liam Mandeville added another goal just after halftime, propelling the Spireites to their well-deserved triumph in front of a jubilant crowd of 9,907 supporters.

The hosts took the lead in the 28th minute when Grimes, the skipper, found the back of the net with a powerful header from Mandeville’s delivery off the corner kick.

With a 1-0 advantage at halftime, Chesterfield wasted no time in the second half as Mandeville clinically finished off Armando Dobra’s assist to double their lead within a minute after the restart.

The 100th league goal of the season for Chesterfield came through Grimes again, as Dobra set him up for his second goal of the day, securing the Spireites’ supremacy and the National League title.

Chesterfield’s return to the EFL, under the stewardship of manager Paul Cook, comes after a standout season where they have dominated the National League, showcasing their intentions to compete at the higher level in League Two.
