Chicago Blackhawks and St. Louis Blues to Face off in 2025 NHL Winter Classic at Wrigley Field
The Chicago Blackhawks and the St. Louis Blues have been chosen as the teams to compete in the 2025 NHL Winter Classic, which will take place at Wrigley Field, according to a league source.
This will be the second Winter Classic held at Wrigley Field, with the previous one occurring in 2009 featuring the Blackhawks and the Red Wings from Detroit. The NHL is revisiting previous sites for the Winter Classic, as they had organized an outdoor game at Fenway Park in Boston in both 2010 and 2023.
The Blackhawks, who hold the record for most participations in outdoor games among NHL teams, will be making their seventh appearance in a game of this kind. Their last Winter Classic appearance was in 2019 at Notre Dame Stadium against the Bruins. It was widely expected that the Blackhawks would be selected for another outdoor game after drafting Connor Bedard last summer.
The Blues, on the other hand, will be participating in their fourth Winter Classic. Their most recent appearance was in 2022 at Target Field against the Minnesota Wild.
