Jawaan Taylor Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl Lix Injury

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Chiefs received positive news ahead of Super Bowl LIX as right tackle Jawaan Taylor is expected to start against the Philadelphia Eagles despite managing a knee injury. Taylor, a key member of the Chiefs’ offensive line, has been on the injury report but has fully participated in all practices this week.

Taylor’s resilience has been crucial for the Chiefs, as he has played through the knee issue since the latter half of the regular season. His presence will be vital in countering the Eagles’ formidable pass rush, which has been a major factor in their success this season.

“Jawaan has been a warrior for us all season,” Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said. “He understands the importance of this game, and we’re confident he’ll be ready to contribute on Sunday.”

While Taylor is expected to start, rookie backups Kingsley Suamataia and Ethan Driskell are listed as reserves. However, the Chiefs are likely to rely on their more experienced players for the high-stakes matchup.

Beyond Taylor, the Chiefs’ injury report also includes quarterback Patrick Mahomes (ankle) and punter Matt Araiza (illness), both of whom are expected to be full participants in the game. Wide receiver Skyy Moore (abdomen) remains doubtful, which could impact the team’s depth at the position.

For the Eagles, key players like defensive end Brandon Graham (elbow) and tight end C.J. Uzomah (abdomen) are listed as questionable, while wide receiver Britain Covey (neck) has been ruled out. The Eagles’ pass rush, led by Graham, will aim to challenge Mahomes and the Chiefs’ offensive line throughout the game.

The matchup is set to kick off at 6:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, February 9, at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. Both teams are preparing for a highly anticipated showdown, with the Chiefs seeking to defend their title and the Eagles aiming to claim their second Super Bowl victory in franchise history.

With final practices underway and injury reports nearly finalized, all eyes are on whether both teams can field their strongest lineups in what promises to be a competitive and unpredictable game.
