KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City Chiefs tight end Noah Gray announced exciting personal news just days before his team faces the Washington Commanders on Monday Night Football, October 27.

The Chiefs are looking to secure their third consecutive victory, while the Commanders aim to avoid their third straight loss. Gray’s announcement comes amidst heightened anticipation for the primetime match at Arrowhead Stadium.

With all starting wide receivers available, quarterback Patrick Mahomes is firing on all cylinders. He can also rely on his star tight end, Travis Kelce, who has recorded 31 receptions for 375 yards and two touchdowns this season.

Gray, a fifth-round draft pick in 2021, has been a solid contributor with nine receptions for 75 yards this season. He is known for his versatility, acting as both a receiving option and a blocking tight end.

In a social media post on October 25, Gray revealed that he and his wife, Mary Elise, are expecting their second child. The couple wrote, “Noah’s girl army is getting a tiny bit bigger 🎉👶.”

Several teammates congratulated Gray, including Mahomes, who said, “Congrats! ❤️,” and Chiefs wide receiver who added, “Congrats bro 😁.” Former Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman’s fiancée, Chariah Gordon, also expressed excitement, writing, “Congratulations 🎉❤️👶.”

Gray and Mary Elise began dating at Duke University and got married in 2022. Their first daughter, Naomi, was born on March 17, 2024.

While they generally keep a low profile, Gray has publicly acknowledged his wife’s importance in his life. Last Mother’s Day, he posted a heartfelt tribute, saying, “Happy Mother’s Day to the one that keeps us rolling!! Mimi and I appreciate all you do for us! I love you!!”

As the Chiefs approach their matchup against the Commanders, backup quarterback Marcus Mariota will start in place of Washington’s injured Jayden Daniels. Mahomes expressed his desire to compete against the best, saying, “You want to go up against the best of the best.”

The game promises to be a thrilling encounter as both teams gear up for this important Week 8 showdown.
