Clemson Basketball Team In Action Against Boston College

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — On Wednesday night, the No. 11 Clemson Tigers defeated the Boston College Eagles 78-69 in the season finale at Conte Forum. The victory allowed Clemson to continue its strong performance in the ACC, improving their record to 25-5.

The Tigers entered the game boasting a six-game winning streak and an impressive 16-2 record in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Leading the charge for Clemson was super senior Chase Hunter, who contributed significantly with multiple key baskets throughout the match.

Boston College, with a record of 12-18, was eager to finish their season on a high note but faced a formidable challenge from Clemson. The Eagles started the game strong, with Jayden Hastings scoring five of the team’s first points, including a highlight-reel dunk and a block against Ian Scheiffelin.

Despite the energetic start, Clemson quickly seized the momentum. The Tigers led 49-39 at halftime after a display of offensive prowess, with Jaeden Zackery, a former Eagle, scoring eight consecutive points to extend Clemson’s lead.

In the second half, Boston College rallied, narrowing the gap to five points with strong performances from Dion Brown and Hastings. However, Clemson consistently countered BC’s efforts, maintaining a multi-possession lead with effective ball movement and shooting accuracy.

The turning point came when Boston College cut the lead to two points. Unfortunately, the Eagles could not capitalize on opportunities during the critical stretch, failing to score over a four-minute span as Clemson regained a nine-point advantage.

After a frustrating sequence of missed shots, Boston College’s chances for an upset faded as Clemson restored control, ultimately closing out the game with a 78-69 win. With this victory, Clemson solidified its position near the top of the ACC standings, while Boston College heads into the offseason looking to rebuild and improve ahead of next year.
