Clyde Edwards-Helaire on Team Support and Recent Inactivity
Clyde Edwards-Helaire, the running back for the Kansas City Chiefs, has been in the spotlight recently for more than just his performance on the field. In a recent interview, Edwards-Helaire opened up about the significant support he has received from his teammates, particularly in his battle with PTSD. He highlighted the importance of having a strong support system, especially from famous teammates who have helped him through challenging times.
Interestingly, Edwards-Helaire’s journey to the Chiefs was also influenced by quarterback Patrick Mahomes. It has been revealed that Mahomes personally asked for Edwards-Helaire to be drafted to Kansas City, showcasing the strong team dynamic and camaraderie within the organization.
Despite the emotional and psychological support, Edwards-Helaire faced a different kind of challenge on the field. He was inactive for the Chiefs’ Sunday game against the Denver Broncos, a decision made by the coaches. Notably, Edwards-Helaire was not listed on the Week 10 injury report, indicating that his inactivity was not due to an injury.
The support from his coach, Andy Reid, was also evident when Reid gave Edwards-Helaire a heartfelt hug, symbolizing the team’s commitment to their players’ well-being. This gesture underscores the positive and supportive environment within the Chiefs organization.
