College Football Teams Shine in Unique Week 5 Uniforms

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — As college football teams prepare for Week 5, several programs have unveiled striking new uniforms that will catch the attention of fans nationwide. Arizona State, West Virginia, and Boise State are among those taking distinctive styles to the field this weekend.
The Arizona State Sun Devils are gearing up for a big game with a sleek all-black uniform, asking their home crowd to wear black as well. The outfit includes a black helmet, jersey, and pants, with bright yellow highlighting the jersey numbers and logo.
West Virginia will sport new throwback uniforms inspired by designs from 1965. These features include a muted “old gold” color and light blue accents, complemented by a navy base color. The helmets highlight the outline of the state of West Virginia with “WVU” inscribed boldly.
Boise State is also making a statement with a helmet named “The Front Porch of Idaho,” showcasing a bronco charging forward on one side and the Idaho State Capitol on the other. The bright design adds flair to their home game at Albertsons Stadium.
Other teams stepping up their uniform game include the Oregon Ducks, who will shift into a fitting white jersey for their matchup against Penn State’s famed White Out event. Their costume will feature unique graphics of a mummified duck on gloves and accessories.
Meanwhile, Mississippi State is looking to make a mark in a whiteout against an undisclosed opponent, donning icy white gear highlighted by a maroon retro “MSU” logo.
In Charlottesville, the Virginia Cavaliers are honoring their history by wearing uniforms reminiscent of their 1995 upset against then-No. 2 Florida State, which marked their first conference loss in the ACC.
Fans can expect these standout designs to play a role in the emotional atmosphere as college football fans rally behind their teams this weekend. Whether through traditional colors or innovative designs, teams have proven that style matters on the field.
