College GameDay Features Country Stars in Nashville
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – College GameDay is set to make a much-anticipated return to Nashville on Saturday for a matchup between No. 15 Missouri and No. 10 Vanderbilt. Country music stars Kenny Chesney and Dierks Bentley will perform live from Wyatt Lawn during the show.
ESPN announced the performances of Chesney and Bentley ahead of the game, which takes place at FirstBank Stadium. The show will air live starting at 8 a.m. CST, showcasing not only college football but also the music scene in Nashville.
This marks the first visit of College GameDay to Vanderbilt since 2008, when the Commodores secured a narrow victory over Auburn, 14-13. Vanderbilt is currently enjoying its best start in 75 years with a record of 6-1, including a recent win against LSU.
Kenny Chesney, a Nashville favorite and newly inducted member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, will perform his hit song “Get Along.” Dierks Bentley, a Vanderbilt alumnus, will also take the stage with his award-winning song “What Was I Thinkin’” and a new track, “IYKYK.”
Vanderbilt’s placement in the AP Top 10 has created a buzz around the program. Coach Clark Lea has leading strategies that have brought the Commodores to this level, with their only loss this season occurring against Alabama.
Fans and alumni are expected to gather for the live show, adding to the lively atmosphere of the event. Tidbits of excitement have emerged as Chesney and Bentley prepare to contribute to the GameDay experience, making it a memorable occasion for the Music City crowd.
As College GameDay gears up for its Nashville appearance, the show promises a celebration of football, music, and school spirit all at once, creating an event hard to miss.
