Colts Sign Defensive Tackle Neville Gallimore, Boosting Defensive Depth

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The Indianapolis Colts bolstered their defensive line this week by signing free-agent defensive tackle Neville Gallimore to a one-year contract.
Gallimore, 28, previously played with the Los Angeles Rams during the 2024 season. His performance included a strong postseason, where he recorded 1.5 sacks and a tackle for loss in the first playoff game and followed up with another sack in the second round. His experience will be crucial for a Colts team looking to enhance its defensive strategy ahead of the upcoming season.
“Neville brings experience and skill to an area where we needed more depth after recent roster changes,” Colts General Manager Chris Ballard stated. “We’re excited to welcome him to our team and look forward to seeing him contribute this coming season.”
Gallimore was originally drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft, following a standout career at Oklahoma. In his four seasons, he has appeared in 66 games, starting 18, and has accumulated 109 tackles, including 11 for a loss, along with 4.0 sacks, 10 quarterback hits, and 3 pass breakups.
The Colts are reconfiguring their defensive front, especially after releasing Raekwon Davis as part of a cost-cutting move. With Taven Bryan likely moving on in free agency, Gallimore joins the likes of Adetomiwa Adebawore and Pheldarius Payne to provide valuable depth behind veteran starters DeForest Buckner and Grover Stewart.
As both Buckner and Stewart approach their 31st birthdays, the addition of Gallimore serves to provide much-needed insurance and rotational capability on the defensive line. His versatility and experience in high-pressure situations will help strengthen the Colts’ defensive strategies.
The upcoming NFL free agency period, which kicks off on March 12, is set to bring more changes and signings across the league. The Colts’ personnel decisions, including Gallimore’s signing, are part of a larger strategy to ensure the team remains competitive as they head into an important offseason.
