Tyler Fischer Comedian Fox News Controversy

NEW YORK, N.Y. — Comedian Tyler Fischer has found himself embroiled in controversy after being accused of sexual harassment by a Fox News employee, leading to his removal from the network’s lineup. Fischer, a frequent guest on the late-night show Gutfeld!, claims that his only crime was asking the woman out for coffee.

The incident occurred on January 30, when Fischer, 38, approached a female staffer at her desk before his scheduled appearance on the show. He described the interaction as a “flirty little interaction” and stated, “I introduced myself and asked if she would ever get coffee sometime.” However, shortly after, security escorted him away as the employee had reported the incident as harassment.

Following the interaction, Fischer’s planned return to the show was abruptly canceled. He expressed to The Daily Mail, “I was stunned and humiliated.” Since the incident, Fischer claims he has not been invited back on the show, despite having appeared over a dozen times in the past two years.

Fischer took to social media to voice his frustrations, asserting that Fox News has adopted a “woke mind virus” culture that unjustly penalizes men. He tweeted, “It is not illegal or against any rules at Fox to ask a grown adult for coffee,” arguing that society has transformed innocent interactions into reasons for defamation.

The comedian has previously drawn ire for his controversial jokes, including remarks on women and political figures. Amid the fallout from the harassment claims, Fischer is considering legal action against Fox, stating he feels his reputation has suffered greatly.

As the #MeToo movement has altered workplace interactions dramatically, this latest incident at Fox echoes the network’s own past scandals involving harassment allegations against high-profile figures such as Roger Ailes and Bill O'Reilly.

Fischer claims that he was engaged in discussions with Fox regarding alleged discrimination he faced in Hollywood, suggesting that his career has been stifled due to the network’s diversity policies. “I was told explicitly, we have too many white guys,” Fischer recalled.

He suggested that these experiences are leading individuals to seek alternative media options. “This is why people are turning to alternative sources for their entertainment and news,” he remarked.

While Fox has not commented on the specifics of the allegations or Fischer’s removal, the incident raises larger questions about workplace boundaries and the challenges that arise in the aftermath of the #MeToo movement.

As Fischer continues his national comedy tour, he remains uncertain about the path ahead, with discussions about possible legal redress against Fox still ongoing. What remains clear is that this incident has sparked a renewed conversation about acceptable workplace interactions in the evolving cultural landscape.
