Comedian Kettan Singh faced criticism from Karan Johar for his mimicry on the TV show ‘Madness Machayenge’. Without explicitly naming Singh or the show, Johar expressed disappointment over the impersonation, deeming it in ‘poor taste’.

Kettan Singh swiftly issued an apology to Karan Johar following the public backlash. In an exclusive interaction with India Today, Singh expressed shock and regret over offending the renowned director. However, he remains uncertain about the specific aspects of his mimicry that upset Johar.

Regarding the incident, Kettan Singh mentioned, “While rehearsing and filming the impersonation, there was no indication of it being offensive. I am still uncertain about the exact reason for his disappointment. Nevertheless, I wholeheartedly extend my apologies to Karan Johar for any discomfort caused.”

The comedian further reflected on the gravity of the situation, acknowledging Karan Johar’s stature in the industry. Singh noted his limited means of communication with Johar and expressed doubts about the effectiveness of reaching out via social media. As a result, he opted to convey his regret through media reports.

Karan Johar’s social media post addressing the controversial mimicry episode garnered significant attention online. Although not directly naming Kettan Singh or the show ‘Madness Machayenge’, Johar’s disappointment was evident as he emphasized the need for respectful humour in the industry.
